Tattoo aftercare
-
Always have clean hands before taking care of your tattoo
The day of the appointment
-
After 2 hours, remove the bandage and clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and neutral soap
-
Dab with clean paper or with a towel
-
Apply a thin layer of healing cream (from pharmacy) or tattoo cream.
-
Protect the skin with a bandage (cellophane)
-
If necessary, repeat the procedure in the evening; change the cellophane each time.
The day after
-
Repeat the procedure 3 times during the day; keep the plastic wrap also during the second night.
The next days
-
Wash the tattoo 1x day
-
Apply the cream 3-4 times a day to keep the skin hydrated, until the healing is complete.
Let the tattoo breathe as much as possible and use cotton clothes, avoid synthetic fabrics.
The healing process is 2 to 4 weeks long, depending on the type of skin and tattoo.
You can consider the healing complete when all the small scabs are gone.
During the healing process:
Avoid: swimming pool, sea, sauna, exposure to the sun.
Creams with essential oils or vitamin E are not recommended.
After the healing:
Take care of your skin: moisturise regularly with a body cream.
When you expose yourself to the sun, protect your tattoo with sunscreen.
The tattoo can react to germs in case of poor hygiene during aftercare.
If after the first 2-3 days the skin is still inflamed, swollen or small pimples appear, please contact your doctor for appropriate assistance.
It is important to follow the recommendations; as we cannot control the healing process once you’ve left our shop, we are not responsible for a poor healing of your skin.
